U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested four people in Livermore on Thursday, according to the Alameda County Immigrant Legal and Education Partnership (ACILEP).
Agents arrested three people about 9 a.m. near Paseo Laguna Seco and Corte Reina Common, ACILEP confirmed on social media. Some five hours later and just shy of a mile and a half away, ICE arrested another person about 2:10 p.m. in the parking lot of Grocery Outlet, located at 1320 Railroad Ave., ACILEP said.
“ACILEP has also received and confirmed several additional reports of ICE activity in Livermore today that were not connected to a reported arrest,” organization officials wrote on social media. The Livermore Police Department said it had no information about the arrests, as the department does not work with ICE on immigration enforcement activities.
The Livermore arrests come amid a reported uptick in ICE activity across Alameda County. Agents arrested a man Oct. 25 near the Santa Rita Jail in what Department of Homeland Security officials called a targeted enforcement operation. ICE personnel and vehicles have also reportedly been spotted at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Pleasanton.
ACILEP officials said they are currently providing legal services to one person arrested in Livermore Thursday but have not been able to identify the three other individuals.
