A fire that sparked outdoors last week during the heat wave caused major damage to one house and threatened a neighboring home in Springtown before firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.
The call came into LPFD just after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 2) reporting a residential fire in the 5000 block of Oakmont Circle – just off Broadmoor Street – in Livermore’s Springtown district, according to the department.
The flames began outside and very soon exposed two houses, according to LPFD.
“While the fire extended into the attic of one home, firefighters successfully prevented significant damage to the second home,” LPFD stated. “Despite the 100-degree temperatures, the fire was swiftly extinguished. No injuries or fatalities were reported.”
The cause of the fire was not initially reported by LPFD, and additional details about the circumstances have not yet been revealed.
