Forward progress was halted on a vegetation fire near Altamont in Alameda County on Monday evening, according to Cal Fire. 

The Flynn Fire burned 16 acres in the area of eastbound Interstate 580, north of Flynn Road, northeast of Livermore, according to Cal Fire. 

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
