Don’t look now, but the Foothill football team controls its own destiny in the East Bay Athletic League’s Valley Division following their 35-20 win over Livermore last Friday.
The Falcons were coming off consecutive games where they were outscored 77-0 in losses to San Ramon Valley and Amador Valley.
Friday night they fell behind early but rallied for the convincing win that moved them to 1-0 in Valley play and a 3-4 overall. With games remaining with Granada, then Dublin, the path is simple – win both games and the Valley title comes back to Foothill, along with a berth in the North Coast Section playoffs.

Eckersley, LaRussa in Tri-Valley fundraiser
Next Friday (Nov. 6) offers a chance to spend an evening with former Oakland A’s and Hall of Fame member Dennis Eckersley.
The proceeds from the event will benefit the Eugene O’Neill Foundation. The event takes place at Village Theatre in Danville with tickets priced at $100.
From his 24-year career in Major League Baseball as one of the game’s greatest closers and iconic pitchers to his 20-year career as a color commentator for the Boston Red Sox, “Eck” is legendary for his charismatic, colorful and unfiltered storytelling. Eckersley has generously offered to take pictures with ticket holders. A special raffle will be held featuring Dennis Eckersley signed merchandise.
Adding to an already incredible lineup, Hall of Fame Manager Tony La Russa will join Eckersley on the stage. La Russa famously transitioned Eckersley into the role of the closer with the Oakland A’s — a move that redefined the bullpen and set Eckersley on a path to first-ballot Hall of Fame immortality.
Together, they will share behind-the-scenes stories, insights, and banter from their respective championship runs with the Oakland A’s and the St. Louis Cardinals.
