Pleasant Hill Mayor Sue Noack was unanimously elected new chairperson of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the commission announced last week.

Noack served as Contra Costa County cities’ representative on the regional board for the past two years. Her term runs until February 2027. 

The board also elected Marin County Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters to serve as vice chair for the next two years.  

MTC is the transportation planning, financing and coordinating agency for the nine-county Bay Area. 

Other positions have changed hands on the board. 

Santa Clara County Supervisor Margaret Abe-Koga replaced Cindy Chavez as the Santa Clara County representative.  

Palo Alto City Councilmember Patrick Burt replaced Abe-Koga as representative of Santa Clara County cities. 

Alameda Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft replaced former Union City Councilmember Carol Dutra-Vernaci as representative of Alameda County cities. 

Contra Costa County Supervisor Candace Andersen now represents Contra Costa, filling the seat of retired former county supervisor Federal Glover. 

San Francisco Infrastructure, Climate and Mobility Chief Alicia John-Baptiste replaced Nick Josefowitz as San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie’s appointee. 

Napa County Supervisor Amber Manfree took Alfredo Pedroza’s spot as Napa County representative. 

San Francisco Supervisor Myrna Melgar is now the City and County of San Francisco representative, replacing Hillary Ronen. 

Solano County Supervisor Mitch Mashburn replaced Jim Spering, who stepped away from the commission after 38 years as Solano County’s representative. 

And Napa County Supervisor and Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) Executive Board President Belia Ramos replaced Sonoma County Supervisor David Rabbitt as the ABAG Representative.
