The Livermore Planning Commission is set to review a 253-unit housing project in northeast Livermore called Cornerstone at its regular meeting Tuesday.
Slated for construction on five vacant lots at the northwest corner of the intersection of Collier Canyon Road and Constitution Drive, the project would feature 21 three-story residential buildings and one five-story apartment building.
The proposed development includes 143 for-sale condominium units with six units affordable to moderate-income households, and 108 units will be for-rent units that will be affordable to low-, lower, very low- and extremely low-income households, and two market rate apartment manager units.
The plans also include one public park and a smaller pocket park, public trail, parking as well as stormwater and frontage improvements, according to the resolution coming before the commission on Dec. 17.
As part of the proposal, applicant Pacific Companies has requested 11 waivers on development standard and two concessions regarding affordable unit density, according to the resolution.
Requested waivers include the project’s building design and view protection. The concessions include allowing 108 affordable units to be within the same building and concentrated instead of dispersed between the rental units and the for-sale units.
As part of the commission’s decision, they will determine whether or not the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Civic Center Meeting Hall at 1016 S. Livermore Ave. The agenda is available here.
*The planning commission is set to debate updates to the city’s General Plan. The conversation will boil down to recommendations for policy updates for the Livermore City Council.
*Consideration of the Parkwest Casino 580 expansion project has been postponed to the commission meeting on Jan. 7, 2025.
