All fireworks are prohibited in Livermore, police said in a reminder to the public ahead of the Fourth of July.

The Livermore Police Department plans to use “several tools” including drones to identify and document the use of fireworks, officials said.
These drones will be “supporting enforcement efforts and helping keep neighborhoods safe,” they explained.
In addition to monitoring by drone, LPD plans to deploy additional patrolling officers during the days ahead of July 4 as well as after the holiday.
“Fireworks can cause serious injuries, start fires, and disrupt neighborhoods. They can also create significant stress for pets, veterans, and other community members,” LPD officials said.
If fireworks are used or found on a property, the property owner can be held accountable for the violation, regardless of who lights the fireworks, LPD officials said.
Administrative citations can cost up to $500 and may be issued by mail to property owners if firework activity is documented on a property.
The prohibition includes “safe and sane” fireworks purchased in other jurisdictions.
For a firework-free celebration, LPD officials encourage residents to attend the city’s Fourth of July celebration from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Livermore Municipal Airport.
