As the Livermore school board on Tuesday is set to kick off a school year of meetings, the district expects to see a funding increase of over $12 million for 2026-27.
The projected revenue increase ($12,295,779) as well as an increase in expenditures ($2,784,415) for the school year comes as part of the district’s 45-day budget revision.
This revision applies to the district’s adopted budget, which was required prior to July 1. The revision takes into account the state of California’s budget for 2026-27, which Gov. Gavin Newsom enacted via the State Budget Act.
The expected influx of funds follows budgeting challenges last school year in which the board approved about $14.8 million in adjustments and cuts for the 2026-27 school year followed by the recouperation and introduction of over $2.7 million worth of programming and staffing.
The budget revision will be up for presentation at the board’s Aug. 11 meeting.
The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m. The full agenda is available here.
