The city of Dublin is partnering up with Livermore and Pleasanton to host the first-ever Tri-Valley Affordable Housing Fair on Thursday (May 7) at The Wave Community Room, which is located at Emerald Glen Park in Dublin.
From 2-7 p.m., members of the public can drop in for free to learn more about a “range of affordable and specialized housing programs available throughout the Tri-Valley”.
In addition to housing resources, residents can also learn more about energy assistance, accessibility and disability support, and services for seniors and veterans.

Psychotherapist to speak at LPC
Satsuki Ina, a psychotherapist, filmmaker and activist known for her work on the long-term psychological impact of historical trauma, will be talking about inheriting trauma and what it takes to heal it during this Monday’s Las Positas College President’s Speaker Series.
According to the college, Ina was born in 1944 in the Tule Lake Segregation Center, which is considered to be one of the most controversial incarceration camps used to detain Japanese Americans during WWII.
The free event, which takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday (May 4) at the college’s Mertes Theater, will feature Ina talking about her memoir, “The Poet and the Silk Girl”, and providing insight into “personal and collective histories of resilience, memory, and healing.”
“Dr. Ina’s story challenges us to confront not only what happened, but what it means now,” LPC President Dyrell Foster said in a press release. “This is about memory, accountability, and the role education plays in ensuring these histories are neither forgotten nor repeated.”
2026 Grantmakers Forum
The Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance is hosting its 2026 Grantmakers Forum next Thursday (May 7) at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore.
According to a press release from the organization, senior leaders from statewide foundations, regional philanthropy, corporate giving and local community funders will gather at the event to discuss how grantmakers are “thinking, adapting, and setting priorities in a rapidly changing environment”.
“In a moment when so many nonprofits are being asked to do more with less, this conversation has never been more important,” TVNPA CEO Kathy Young said in the press release. “The Grantmakers Forum is one of the few spaces where funders speak openly about how they’re thinking, where they’re investing, and how nonprofits can build stronger, more strategic relationships with them. No one leaves this room without new insight.”
The event will run from 10 a.m. to noon. To register, visit www.TVNPA.org.
