Livermore Valley voters will be selecting from seven candidates for three seats on the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District Board of Directors on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The lineup of hopefuls solidified Wednesday evening, following a five-day extension of the filing deadline for candidates because incumbent Director David Furst did not seek reelection.
The race includes incumbents Maryalice Summers Faltings and Philip Pierpont, returning candidate and recreation manager Matt Bogdanowicz and newcomers including retired LARPD general manager Timothy Barry, retired police sergeant Larry Bird, bike shop manager Mike Ralph and nursing professor Laureen Turner.
LARPD was the only race in Livermore that saw a filing extension. Candidates were confirmed Friday in the elections for Livermore City Council and Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Board of Education.
