The Livermore Planning Commission is set to host a public hearing Tuesday regarding a California Water Service project proposed to construct a new drinking water well and improvements for an associated treatment facility.
The California Water Station 23 project is slated for 1043 Geneva St., next to Sunset Park. Cal Water uses the site as a water storage facility, which includes two large water tanks.
In addition to the well, proposed improvements for the treatment facility would include grading, generator relocation, site piping and a reinforced concrete retaining wall, according to a staff report prepared by Livermore assistant planner Emily LaDue.
The project is intended to expand the facility’s capacity and add equipment for efficient and reliable public water services, LaDue said.
The commission will consider project entitlements including a conditional use permit modification and a site plan design review modification.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 15). The agenda is available here.

The Planning Commission is set to give planning staff direction on a resident’s request to increase the maximum allowable size of additional dwelling units, up from 1,000 square feet.
