Livermore school trustees are set to hold a special meeting this evening to review the district’s budget shortfall, reduction options and stakeholder input.
Aiming to make ongoing cuts of approximately $14.8 million for the 2026-27 school year, the Board of Education’s agenda packet lays out options at the department and school site levels, as well as feedback from employee groups and community stakeholders. While the staff report does not appear to outline a final recommended plan, the matter is listed as a “discussion/action” item.
Tonight’s discussion follows the trustees’ Jan. 20 special meeting wherein they directed Superintendent Torie Gibson to revise proposed cuts.
The meeting is set to begin at 5 p.m. (Feb. 6) at Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District headquarters, 685 E. Jack London Blvd. The agenda is available here.
In other business, the board is set to discuss the discipline, dismissal or release of one or more unnamed employees in closed session following the budget review.
