Overview:
Learn how the community can participate in the school supplies' drive from Tri-Valley Haven.
While summer vacation is currently in full swing for local youth, Tri-Valley Haven is already looking ahead to the 2024-25 school year by hosting its annual backpack drive for students in the Tri-Valley area.
As the new school year approaches, community members are encouraged to donate pre-filled backpacks with school supplies to assist in preparing students for their studies in the fall.

“Last year, over 600 students benefited from this program, receiving much-needed backpacks and supplies,” Tri-Valley Haven officials wrote in a press release announcing the drive.
The drive is intended to support students of all ages, with suggested supplies for each grade level.
For a pre-k/kindergarten backpack, requested supplies include pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, hand sanitizer and glue sticks. An elementary school backpack warrants pencils, a ruler, a binder and spiral-bound notebooks, among other supplies.
Middle school backpacks should include index cards, pens, highlighters, Post-it notes, and Wite-Out. High school materials include a scientific calculator, subject dividers, and mechanical pencils, among other listed items on Tri-Valley Haven’s website.
The drive is currently underway and runs through July 19. Donations can be made at Tri-Valley Haven’s community building (3663 Pacific Ave. in Livermore) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
