The Amador Valley girls’ softball team will face the toughest test of the season since the Dons made their legendary run to the CIF Northern California championship last year when they play in the Livermore Stampede this week.

In fact, the Dons also saw the same teams in their North Coast Section Division I run as all four semifinalists entered into the 2025 Stampede in California, Amador Valley, Liberty and College Park. Granada and San Ramon Valley were quarterfinalists.

In the NorCal championships, Amador Valley — the winner — was joined by Saint Francis, Casa Grande, Mitty, and Whitney in the eight-team field last year. All five are entered in the Stampede this year.

Games start on Thursday (April 10) with pool play at the Ernie Rodrigues Fields beginning at 9 a.m. until after 9 p.m. The teams will be back at it in pool play during the same hours Friday.

Following two days of pool play, the teams are placed into bracket play depending on their standings. The last-place teams in each pool are paired and so on.
