The Amador Valley High football team’s amazing postseason run came to an end Friday night as the Dons fell 18-14 to Frontier High in the CIF State D-III AA final at Long Beach Community College.

The Dons, playing for a state championship in football for the first time in school history, fell behind 6-0 early but rallied to take an 8-6 lead in the first half. Frontier, who got a huge performance from their defensive line, responded and jumped out to an 18-8 lead.

Amador fought back and cut it to 18-14 with a Tristan Ti’a to Anthony Harrington touchdown. But the Dons offensive line had a tough time stopping the Frontier pass rush, as the Titans were able to stop any Amador final comeback attempts.
