A Livermore juvenile was arrested on suspicion of stealing a car and fleeing, police said Tuesday.

Monday night at about 10:30 p.m., an Acura TLX was allegedly stolen on Broadmoor Street in Livermore. The car was located going westbound on Interstate Highway 580 and the California Highway Patrol was notified.

The CHP found the car and saw that a second vehicle, an Acura MDX, was following it near Hacienda Boulevard. The MDX had also allegedly been reported as stolen out of San Leandro.

The CHP pursued the MDX into Castro Valley, where it crashed, according to police. The driver jumped out of the car and fled but was later taken into custody.

According to police, the juvenile was transported for booking, but Juvenile Hall declined to accept him, and he was released to his home.

The stolen Acura TLX remains outstanding.
