Livermore police arrested a man early Tuesday on suspicion of having a loaded handgun, cocaine, marijuana, and a large amount of cash.
Police said that at about 1 a.m., officers checked a vehicle that was idle for several hours in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Kitty Hawk Road.
An officer contacted the occupant, identified as a 21-year-old Livermore man. The officer saw a firearm on the backseat and it was later determined to be loaded with an extended magazine.
A vehicle search allegedly turned up 17.15 grams of cocaine, 19 grams of marijuana packaged for sales, a digital scale, and a large amount of cash that police said was consistent with drug sales. Officers also found a disassembled firearm, ammunition, and a 50-round drum magazine.
Police arrested the suspect, who was booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of multiple gun and drug-related crimes, including possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, and the manufacture, sale, or possession of an undetectable firearm.
