On Feb. 8, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Via Granada, with the theft occurring sometime between midnight and 9 a.m. Around noon, an officer spotted the stolen vehicle pulling into the Home Depot parking lot on Las Positas Road, LPD officials wrote in an X post detailing the arrest.

Police observed the suspect, who is known to law enforcement, approaching the vehicle. After reviewing surveillance footage, officers arrested him along with his passenger — a 46-year-old Oakland man — on multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle.

In a separate case, Livermore police had been investigating a vehicle theft reported on Feb. 7 from Del Mar Avenue. Security footage again helped officers identify the same suspect, according to LPD’s post.

During questioning, the man provided the location of the stolen car in San Lorenzo. With assistance from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, the other vehicle was recovered.

The suspect was booked on additional charges related to the second theft. The investigation remains ongoing.
