The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Board of Education is scheduled to hold a closed session performance evaluation for Superintendent Torie Gibson as well as a conference with labor negotiators at its meeting Thursday.
Gibson’s evaluation is pursuant of government code and the contents of the conference with labor negotiators was not available on the agenda.
Ahead of the meeting, the board received six letters from the public. Half of the submitted correspondence requested higher compensation for teachers.
“While management positions within our district continue to receive top-level pay, those of us working directly with children and families — where the heart of education truly lies — remain at the bottom of the pay scale,” educator Gena Ruggeri wrote to the board.
The board is scheduled to begin its meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 28). The full agenda is available here.
