Niche, a national K-12 and college research platform, recently named the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District as the 10th-best school district in Alameda County.
Based on its methodology, Niche ranked the neighboring Pleasanton Unified School District as the No. 1 district in the county and Dublin Unified School District as No. 3. Elsewhere in the Tri-Valley, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District was rated as the No. 2 district in Contra Costa County.
Niche is an online platform that uses data to help people best choose a school district for their kids. According to its website, it uses public data and reviews to factor thousands of schools into its grading system in order to rank these schools.
“Our data scientists and user researchers rigorously analyze data and user opinions to assess the key aspects of K-12 Schools, Colleges, and Places to Live,” according to the Niche website. “Every month, millions of students and families use the Niche grades and report cards to find the right school or neighborhood.”
According to the research platform, LVJUSD received an overall A- letter grade after receiving top scores in academics, teachers, diversity and college preparation but it also received a B- grade in administration and a C grade in clubs and activities.
