Police are investigating after a man was shot to death at the Dublin Sports Grounds on Saturday afternoon.
Dublin Police Services revealed few details about what transpired, but a spokesperson said the suspects were in police custody.
The situation unfolded just after 3 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 26) when officers were called to the public sports park at 6700 Dublin Blvd. for a reported shooting, according to Capt. Miguel Campos.
Arriving officers found a man in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, and he was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to Campos. “The identity of the victim is not being released,” the captain added in an initial press release almost three hours after the shooting.
“All known suspects are in custody,” Campos stated, without revealing the names of those involved. “At this time, there is no apparent threat to public safety.”
No further details about the circumstances of the fatal shooting, including the potential motive, were released as of Saturday evening. The department had not responded to the Pleasanton Weekly’s request for an interview.
In the initial public statement, Campos encouraged potential witnesses or anyone else with relevant information to come forward and contact Sgt. Ahmad Mateen at 925-786-7989.
