Two men on probation were arrested in Livermore in separate drug-related cases this week, police said Wednesday.

On Tuesday at about 12:30 p.m., officers pulled over a Mini Cooper for alleged unsafe driving near Isabel and Portola avenues in Livermore. The driver, a 34-year-old Modesto resident, was found to be on felony probation, so was subject to a search.

Police allegedly found more than 8 grams of fentanyl and 34 Xanax bars packaged for sale on his person.

He was arrested on suspicion of multiple drug-related crimes, including transporting and possessing a narcotic for sale.

Early Wednesday morning at about 3:45 a.m., Livermore police made contact with a 44-year-old Castro Valley resident in his car at a gas station on Airway Boulevard.

He was also on probation out of Contra Costa County and had an active warrant for his arrest. A vehicle search allegedly uncovered more than 80 grams of methamphetamine.

The man was arrested for his warrant and on suspicion of being in possession of a controlled substance for sale.
