Livermore police arrested two Vallejo men last week for allegedly having a concealed gun, methamphetamine and other people’s identifications and credit cards in their vehicle.
About 1:20 p.m. Feb. 18, a police officer patrolling the Arroyo Plaza shopping center on Las Positas Road saw a gray Nissan Rogue driving slowly through the Walmart parking lot, repeatedly passing open parking spaces.
Police said the Nissan had vehicle code violations, prompting the officer to pull the car over.
Officers identified the driver as 36-year-old Vallejo man and the passenger as 45-year-old man, also of Vallejo.
The passenger allegedly told police a firearm was inside the vehicle, leading officers to search the vehicle and allegedly find a .22-caliber revolver in the glovebox.
They also allegedly found more than 7 grams of methamphetamine and multiple driver’s licenses, credit cards and a passport — all of which belonged to different people.
Police said the driver had two felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant. Officers arrested him on suspicion of transporting and possessing a controlled substance, along with the outstanding warrants.
Police arrested the passenger on suspicion of firearm possession, carrying a concealed weapon and identity theft.
Editor’s note: The suspects’ names were withheld from the story in accordance with Embarcadero Media Foundation’s policy on identifying arrestees before formal charges are filed.
