No Kings: Vote Early
Indivisible Tri-Valley is hosting a free No Kings: Vote Early Family Fair this Saturday, as part of a national day of action, at Emerald Glen Park in Dublin from 2-4 p.m.
Non-partisan voter registration, guidance on early voting and ballot safety information will be available at the event. Voters are encouraged to bring their filled out ballots and cast them at the drop-box located at the Wave. The fair will also feature carnival-style games, face painting, craft stations and mock voting for kids and parents.
Livermore Indivisible is also holding a rally that same day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Portola Park in Livermore to encourage voter participation and early voting, as well as to express opposition to the current administration.
‘Boo Bash’
The Pleasanton Downtown Association is hosting its first-ever trick or treat “Boo Bash” event this Saturday.
According to the PDA, the new annual event will take children of all ages on a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt throughout downtown Pleasanton where businesses will offer them candles and goodies. Other activities include face painting, photo opportunities with superheroes who will be walking around and a best costume contest.
The free event will begin at the Museum on Main at 10 a.m. and last until 1 p.m.

Oktoberfest event
SideTrack Bar and Grill, located in downtown Pleasanton next to Delucchi Park, is hosting back-to-back Oktoberfest and SmokeFest events this weekend.
The festivities will bring a traditional German beer garden with live music and food on Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as an all day “country western bash” on Sunday featuring slow-cooked barbecue, line dancing and other performances, meaning that corner of downtown will likely see an increase in foot traffic all three days.
Both events will be free to attend with food and beverage tickets available on site and online. For more information on tickets and the event times, visit www.sidetrackeats.com.
Open Heart Kitchen gala
Open Heart Kitchen, a hunger relief nonprofit organization based in Livermore, is celebrating the success of its Sept. 11 Heart of the Tri-Valley Gala, which raised almost $260,000 for the nonprofit’s many hunger-relief programs.
According to a recent press release from the Livermore nonprofit, the annual gala brought more than 330 community members to the Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery to “raise funds in support of hunger relief and transitional shelter across the Tri-Valley”.
“This community continues to show what is possible when we come together to make sure our neighbors have reliable access to food and transitional housing support,” John Bost, executive director of Open Heart Kitchen, said in the press release. “Every donor, attendee, sponsor, volunteer, and staff member contributed to one evening that will strengthen the safety net of resources for thousands of Tri-Valley neighbors.”
Sunol Heritage Festival
If you’re looking for a fun way to get in touch with the cultural heritage of Sunol, make sure to visit the Sunol Heritage Festival taking place this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sunol Visitor Center.
According to the East Bay Regional Park District website, the free event will celebrate the “diverse heritage of the wilderness” with games, activities and music throughout the day. A $5 parking fee will be required upon arrival.
“Activities and exhibits weave together Ohlone, Spanish, Mexican, and European cultures in California heritage through Sunol history,” according to the EBRPD website. “Guests can enjoy an acorn processing demonstration, taste culturally important foods, and enjoy music that offers connection to the land’s first peoples.”
