Sakhiy, who brings more than 16 years of nonprofit leadership experience, most recently as CEO of Orphans In Need based out of Dublin, is taking over for Culinary Angels founder Lisa McNaney, who announced earlier this year her plans to step back from the executive director role.

Sakhiy said in a press release last week that he was “incredibly honored” to join the nonprofit that provides healthy meals to cancer patients and their caregivers free-of-charge in Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon and Danville.

“The mission of providing nourishing meals to those facing a cancer challenge deeply resonates with me. I’m excited to work alongside such a dedicated staff, volunteers, and board members who have been instrumental in driving this impactful mission forward,” Sakhiy added. “A special thank you to founder Lisa McNaney for her vision and leadership in building such an amazing organization, and I look forward to continuing her legacy.”

McNaney, who founded the nonprofit in 2016 after being inspired to help others going through a cancer challenge, said, “The organization is in a perfect position to be taken to the next level of growth and be able to provide greater impact to those in need. It’s an incredible opportunity and I am looking forward to working with Mansoor and transitioning him to this exciting new role.”

Culinary Angels Board Chair Lynn Monica praised Sakhiy’s resume of experience with strategic planning, fundraising and marketing mainly in the international humanitarian relief nonprofit sector. “We are looking forward to working with him as he guides the organization into the future,” Monica said.

A transition that is also a bit bittersweet, Monica commended McNaney for her “vision, dedication and the leadership of Culinary Angels, and for all the growth of the organization since its founding. Lisa will be missed by all.”
