Volunteers are being sought for BART’s 11-member Police Civilian Review Board.
Prospects must live in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco or San Mateo counties, be “fair minded and objective,” and have a “demonstrated commitment to community service,” BART said in an announcement.
Appointments will be made by President Melissa Hernandez, from District 5, and Director Janice Li, from District 8.
The full BART Board of Directors will appoint someone for the vacant Public-at-Large seat.
Volunteers must not have a felony conviction, be currently employed in law enforcement or be related to current or former BART police members.
Applications can be obtained from the BART Office of the District Secretary. The deadline for applying is June 12.
