In a social media post Tuesday, officials said two apartment units sustained major damage while others are still being assessed. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries — one was treated at the scene, and the other was transported to an area hospital in good condition, officials said.

A rescue mission was also successfully carried out, with a kitten who had been trapped safely reunited with its owner.

LPFD said it received support from Alameda County Fire and Falck Ambulance in response to the blaze.
