A nearly three-month investigation by Livermore detectives has come to a close with the arrest of a man connected to three commercial burglaries in the city, LPD officials announced on Facebook.

Matthew Scott Swanson, 33, of Livermore was arrested Tuesday after detectives located him in Burlingame. He was later booked into Santa Rita Jail for multiple burglary charges and firearms charges, according to LPD's post.

On Dec. 9, detectives served several search warrants for Swanson and allegedly recovered more than $20,000 in stolen property, a firearm and a large amount of ammunition.

According to LPD, Swanson is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Prior to serving the search and arrest warrants, detectives located Swanson inside a vehicle driving in Livermore. Officers attempted to stop the car to apprehend Swanson for his outstanding arrest warrants; however, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, causing officers to end the pursuit due to risk to public safety, according to police.

Detectives are still continuing their investigation but in addition to the three burglaries in Livermore, LPD officials said that detectives have connected Swanson to other burglaries outside of the city.
