Swinging in the New Year

Jeff Bordes and Friends are helping the Tri-Valley usher in 2025 with a New Year’s Eve concert at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore.

Led by master trumpeter and Amador Valley High alumnus Bordes, the band is billed for a night of “inspirational, improvisation, jazz” at the concert Tuesday night (Dec. 31), which starts at 8 p.m. and includes a complimentary glass of sparkling wine courtesy of Wente Vineyards and small-bite desserts. Comedy Night with Chicago Steve

Longtime comedian Chicago Steve Barkley is performing at the Firehouse Arts Center in downtown Pleasanton on Friday night, joined by Roman Guzman and host Marvin Langford.

With some five decades of comedy experience, Barkley has appeared on HBO, Showtime and A&E as well as on the same bills as Jerry Seinfeld, Dana Carvey, Milton Berle and more. Comedy Night with Chicago Steve is set for Friday (Dec. 27) at 7:30 p.m. Learn more at firehousearts.org.

Forejour at the Bankhead

Favorite hits of classic rock bands Foreigner and Journey are the calling card of cover band Forejour, which will play their renditions of songs like “Don’t Stop Believin'”, “I Want to Know What Love Is”, “Faithfully” and more at the Bankhead this weekend.

“Re-creating the soundtrack of a generation with stunning accuracy … Forejour’s multimedia show transports audiences back to the heyday of MTV as the band performs the live soundtrack to cherished videos on screen,” according to the Bankhead website.

The Firehouse Arts Center is welcoming electric blues guitarist Chris Cain for a concert this Saturday night (Dec. 28) in downtown Pleasanton.

“Cain’s mastery of Memphis-style electric blues shines through every fiery guitar riff and gruff, soulful lyric,” Firehouse reps said. “His powerful, lived-in vocals and raw passion for the music create an experience that leaves audiences spellbound and coming back for more.”
