Officers arrived to find a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle and its rider blocking the lanes of the county road, according to Hahn. A PG&E utility pole was damaged with live electricity wires blocking the northbound lane.

The motorcyclist – a 40-year-old man from Livermore whose name has not yet been released – was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at around 11:45 a.m., according to Hahn.

A witness told investigators that the motorcycle had been passing over the double-yellow lines at high speeds before the wreck, according to Hahn.

The circumstances of the fatal crash remain under investigation. Anyone with information about what occurred can contact the CHP Dublin Area office at 925-828-0466.

Mines Road was under one-way traffic control for several hours during the wreckage cleanup and PG&E repairs to the pole. The CHP reported the roadway fully reopened shortly after 3:30 p.m.
