The Dublin High School campus went into lockdown Monday afternoon due to an alleged fight between students in the parking lot, possibly involving a weapon. However, upon investigation police determined all reported events to be unfounded.

“There are no threats to students, faculty, or the general public,” Dublin police commented.

Dublin Police Services officers were dispatched to the campus — which houses both Dublin High and Valley continuation high school — at about 1:02 p.m., after receiving an anonymous call about the purported altercation.

Multiple units responded and out of an abundance of caution, police asked the campus to shelter in place. No other campuses in the district were locked down due to the alleged fight, according to Dublin Unified School District officials.

“They investigated the alleged fight by reviewing campus video, searching campus and tracking the phone call, but found no evidence of the altercation,” DHS Principal Maureen Byrne said in a statement.

Police also checked Emerald High School during DHS’s lockdown, though Emerald did not shelter in place.

Following the investigation, the lockdown at DHS was lifted at about 1:35 p.m., according to Byrne.

“We want to thank the students and staff at Dublin High and Valley High for their calm and quick response and are grateful to the Dublin Police Department for taking all tips seriously,” Byrne said in a statement.
