Sutter Health patients in the Tri-Valley are set to have access to new local facilities in the coming years, with the healthcare organization recently announcing its planned forays into Livermore and Pleasanton as part of a broader expansion effort.
Renovations are now underway at the site of the planned Livermore care center at 7683 Southfront Road set to open next summer. Leases are now secured for sites at 4480 Willow Road and 5075 Hopyard Road in Pleasanton, the latter of which is set to open in 2026 and the former set to open in 2027.
“We are excited to grow our existing presence in the Tri-Valley area to create even more health care access in the community,” said Kevin Cook, president of Sutter Health’s Greater Silicon Valley area in a press release on Aug. 8. “Expanding our reach in this area is part of our commitment to significantly grow our care system to address the health care needs patients face across Silicon Valley. We look forward to sharing further details as our plans progress.”
The 11,000-square-foot care center in Livermore is set to consist of 16 exam rooms that can house eight health care providers specializing in internal and family medicine, pediatric care, and lab imaging services according to Sutter officials.
“We are excited about the opportunity to enhance healthcare access for residents of Livermore and the surrounding communities,” said Kurt VandeVort, CEO of the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group in a press release on Aug. 13 . “While we are new to the City of Livermore, we aren’t new to the area. This care center builds on Sutter and PAMF’s established reputations in Dublin, Fremont and Danville as we extend outpatient care services in the community.”
The ground floor of the new Livermore facility is set to host imaging equipment for X-rays and mammograms, as well as lab equipment for other standard medical tests in addition to the eight providers offering a range of services.
“We’re focused on making healthcare more convenient for patients while continuing to be the best place for care teams to work,” said Dr. Soham Jhaveri, medical director of business development for the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group. “This location is a great example of Sutter’s intention to fulfill these commitments to our patients and our people.”
The lease for the 64,222 square-foot Willow Road site in Pleasanton was facilitated by the real estate advisory firm Newmark Group, which issued an announcement on Aug. 13.
“This lease points to the green shoots of recovery we are beginning to see in the Tri Valley and Greater East Bay office and R&D market, signifying a positive trend and a growing confidence in the region’s commercial real estate sector,” said Dan Watson, executive director for Newmark’s Pleasanton office.
The Willow Road site is the planned home of a new Hacienda Research Facility, according to Newmark officials, which will consist of a single-story research and development office.
The new locations are aimed at expanding Sutter’s presence along the Interstate 580 corridor as part of a broader expansion aimed at adding 25 new ambulatory care centers to the Sutter system in the coming years. Renovations for both Pleasanton sites are set to kick off next year.
