Livermore man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Police in Antioch have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after a reported shooting on Dec. 12, the department said on Monday.

Officers were dispatched to a possible shooting near Peppertree Way and Sycamore Drive around 1:06 p.m. Upon arrival, police located evidence of a shooting but no suspect or victim.

Video surveillance confirmed that a shooting had taken place, police said. Eventually, Antioch Police identified Malik Jefferson, 23, from Livermore, as the suspect and arrested him on Feb. 16 in Brentwood.

Jefferson was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of attempted murder and several firearm offenses. Police have not released any further information.
