Livermore Arts has two music acts coming together Jan. 20 as Joan Osborne and the Weepies take the stage at the Bankhead Theater, 2400 First St. in Livermore.

Osborne is known for her gritty, blues-based rock sound, passionate performance and emotionally evocative songwriting. Her style first attracted notice in the early 1990s and she has shared the stage with legendary artists including Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder and Luciano Pavarotti.

The American indie band the Weepies began when singer-songwriters Deb Talan and Steve Tannen began writing together the night they met. They have sold more than a million records over 10 years but are performing their final shows in January before moving on to other creative projects.

The Joan Osborne & the Weepies show begins at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 20. Tickets, $20-$75 ($20 student/military personnel), are almost sold out. Go to LivermoreArts.org.
