Firefighters were busy with multiple incidents in grasslands in the past several days in the Tri-Valley, including one at over 130 acres near Interstate 580 in Livermore, a smaller vegetation fire not far from homes in Pleasanton and a pair of controlled burns in Dublin.
* Fire crews in Livermore have stopped the forward progress of a vegetation fire reported on Sunday near eastbound I-580 by North Flynn Road, according to Cal Fire.
The fire was called in at approximately 1:40 p.m. and appears to have been started from a vehicle or some sort of machinery, according to Cal Fire.
When crews arrived, the fire was at 3 acres but quickly went to 25 acres 20 minutes later, Cal Fire said. By 3:20 p.m., the fire had reached 132 acres.
There were no injuries reported and there did not appear to be any risk to nearby structures, authorities said as of late Sunday afternoon. I-580 remained open, but motorists were urged to use caution and avoid the area if possible.

* The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire around 1:45 p.m. Friday on property east of Chatham Place in Pleasanton, not far from the city's Operations Services Center, the Chain of Lakes and the Village at Ironwood neighborhood.
The fire reached 8 acres but was quickly extinguished by crews from LPFD and the Alameda County Fire Department, according to LPFD command staff.
There were no injuries reported, and the cause remains under investigation, according to LPFD. Power outages were reported in nearby neighborhoods around the time of the fire, but the possible involvement of utility equipment in the start of the fire has not been confirmed thus far.
* ACFD and the Camp Parks Fire Department conducted prescribed burns for training purposes near the Army Reserves training base in Dublin last Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Public agencies advertised the controlled burns beforehand, but the smoke still prompted a number of calls to 911 on both days, according to local emergency agencies.
* In the week ahead, starting on Monday, ACFD crews at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will be undertaking annual prescribed burns at the lab's Site 300, an experimental test site south of Tracy. The preparatory activity is aimed to "help prevent seasonal wildfires from spreading to or from Site 300," lab officials said.
